How on earth do you decide on a boat?
Great article on boat choice by Kayakjournal. I would argue that creek boats are great for people who lack confidence in the early stages of their kayak journey, for the very reason that they do look after you. If you don’t mind the idea of falling over every 2 minutes then a playboat or slicey river runner is the way to go, of course once you have the basics down these boats will absolutely improve your skills far quicker than the whitewater barges that are creek boats.
Personally I have both a Creeker and playboat – and may also be considering an old school slicer…. have a read and make your own mind up!
